LIKE A MOTORCYCLE SIGN WITH CADENCE MUSIC’S ROCK IMPRINT KNOWN ACCOMPLICE

SHARE HEAVY HITTING TRACK “IDOLS”

(Toronto, ON – April 10, 2020)  – Known Accomplice, Cadence Music’s rock imprint, home to Headstones and The Trews, are excited to welcome Haligonian punk rock foursome Like A Motorcycle to the roster! President and CEO Iain Taylor says, “We are really excited to bring LAM into the fold. They are a brilliant combination of aggression and punk ethos mixed with self-reverential humour.  We look forward to helping them take their message to the world.”

Today, the band drops their heavy-hitting new track “Idols.” About the track, the band explain,”‘Idols’ is an effort to ask questions surrounding the abuse of power. What lies can people tell themselves to justify their actions? What lies do we tell ourselves to protect the memory or reputation of someone we once idolized? Who protects us when these people are our politicians or our own family? How do we reconcile with the transgressions of an artist who once instilled value in our lives? How far are we willing to turn our heads to avoid looking at something we’d rather not see? Sometimes, our idols are just fucking assholes.
Like A Motorcycle is a melee attack with a soundtrack. They deliver poignant earworms for their fellow disenfranchised rejects; working minimum wage jobs while dodging five-figure debt. Since their 2016 debut High Hopes, they’ve been tested by just about every obstacle imaginable: navigating substance abuse, internal break-ups, health issues, and a former record label that nearly tanked them, while having nothing to their name except the band that’s kept them together. Like a Motorcycle is Michelle Skelding (drums, lead vocals), Kim Carson (bass, vocals), KT Lamond (guitar, vocals), and David Casey (guitar, vocals). Stay tuned for much more from LAM this year.
