HALIFAX’S LIKE A MOTORCYCLE SHARE VIDEO FOR LATEST SINGLE “WIDE AWAKE”

(Toronto, ON – May 15, 2020)  –  Halifax foursome Like A Motorcycle recently announced their signing to Known Accomplice, Cadence Music’s rock imprint, and shared their first single on the label IDOLS.” Today they’re back with their heavy-hitting and punchy track “Wide Awake”.  Filmed entirely in quarantine in guitarist KT’s apartment, the video is shot on a green screen. The video reflects a world that has drastically changed due to the current pandemic and shines a light on what might happen when people are not constrained by a daily routine designed for the benefit of capitalism but able to truly have the choice to live a life of their own design.

Check out the video HERE.
Reflecting on what the track digs into, Kim says, “Although ‘Wide Awake’ was written some time ago, its sentiment rings true now more than ever. ‘Wide Awake’ is about waking up between a past stained with unhealthy choices and a future of bleak dystopian uncertainty. Where do we go when leaving the past means potentially losing everything we’ve worked for? Can we break vicious cycles and bad habits without losing the people and things that comfort us? How does change and its uncertainty make us feel?
Like A Motorcycle is a melee attack with a soundtrack. They deliver poignant earworms for their fellow disenfranchised rejects; working minimum wage jobs while dodging five-figure debt. Since their 2016 debut High Hopes they’ve been tested by just about every obstacle imaginable: navigating substance abuse, internal break-ups, health issues, and a former record label that nearly tanked them, all while having nothing to their name except the band that’s kept them together. Like a Motorcycle is Michelle Skelding (drums, lead vocals), Kim Carson (bass, vocals), KT Lamond (guitar, vocals) and David Casey (guitar, vocals). Stay tuned for much more from LAM this year.
